Teterboro (TEB)
The classic New York business-aviation gateway in northern New Jersey. Multiple premium FBOs, fast access for Manhattan and the Upper West Side, and the most aircraft availability on short notice.

Private jet route
Skip the seasonal ferry queues and crowded scheduled flights. A private charter puts you on the island in about an hour, on your schedule, with the whole family, the dog, and the weekend bags. Tell us the date and we will build the aircraft options.
The route at a glance
The New York metro to Nantucket is one of the busiest short-hop charter routes on the East Coast, and for good reason. The flying is quick, the aircraft choices are wide, and the time saved versus driving to a Cape Cod ferry and waiting in line is enormous.
Airports and FBOs
On a leg this short, picking the right departure airport is mostly about minimizing your ground time on the New York side. The arrival is straightforward: Nantucket has exactly one jet-capable field.
The classic New York business-aviation gateway in northern New Jersey. Multiple premium FBOs, fast access for Manhattan and the Upper West Side, and the most aircraft availability on short notice.
White Plains, north of the city. Convenient for Westchester, Fairfield County, and Connecticut clients, with a curfew to plan around for late departures.
Republic Airport on Long Island, handy for the Hamptons and Nassau/Suffolk passengers who want to avoid crossing the city to reach Teterboro.
The island's only commercial and charter airport, with a 6,303-foot main runway that comfortably handles light and midsize jets. Full FBO handling, but ramp space tightens fast on peak summer weekends, so we file early.
Aircraft selection
Range is never the constraint on a 200-nautical-mile hop, so the decision comes down to cabin size, baggage, runway comfort, and budget. Turboprops and light jets are the sweet spot; midsize jets are available when you want more cabin or pair the leg with a longer onward trip.
Pilatus PC-12 and King Air 350. Excellent value on this leg, generous baggage, single-pilot or two-crew options, and very comfortable on ACK's runway. Ideal for 4-8 passengers and pet-friendly trips.
Phenom 300, Citation CJ3, and Learjet 75. A little faster, a stand-up-ish cabin on the Phenom, and easy nonstop performance. The most popular category for this route in summer.
Citation XLS+ and Hawker 900XP. More cabin volume, a flight attendant option on some tails, and the headroom for larger groups. Rarely needed for range here, but a smooth choice for comfort.
Pricing and logistics
We never publish fixed dollar prices, because charter pricing moves with the day, the aircraft, and the demand into the island. Here is how the math actually works so you can plan with confidence.

Questions
The trip is short. New York-area airports sit roughly 200 nautical miles from Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK), so typical block time by private jet runs about 50 to 70 minutes gate to gate. A turboprop adds only a few minutes versus a light jet on a leg this short.
On the New York side we most often use Teterboro (TEB) and Westchester (HPN), with Farmingdale (FRG) on Long Island as an option closer to the Hamptons crowd. The arrival is Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK), the island's only jet-capable field, served by full FBO facilities.
Turboprops and light jets are the natural fit. King Air and Pilatus PC-12 turboprops, plus light jets like the Phenom 300, Citation CJ3, and Learjet 75, all cover the distance nonstop with ease. Midsize jets work too, though the short leg rarely requires their extra range.
Yes. Nantucket is a heavy seasonal repositioning market in summer, so empty legs into and out of ACK appear regularly. They depend on aircraft already moving on your dates, so they are unpredictable, but with flexible timing they can deliver meaningful savings. Ask us to watch for matches.
Cost is driven by aircraft category, whether the trip is one-way or round-trip, repositioning and crew waiting time, peak summer-weekend demand into ACK, and landing, handling, and ramp fees. We never quote fixed prices online; we price each request live and show ranges with the drivers explained.
