Common Questions

20 answers before you request a quote.

These are the practical questions we expect serious private flyers to ask before confirming an aircraft.

Do I need a membership to charter with Private JetOne?
No. Private JetOne arranges on-demand private jet charter trip by trip, with no membership fees, no annual dues, and no long-term commitment. You pay only for the flights you take.
How quickly can a private jet be arranged?
Most requests can be quoted within 1–2 hours. Same-day and next-day charters are common when aircraft availability aligns. For complex international routes, 24–48 hours is typical.
Can I fly same-day?
Yes, when aircraft, crew, and airport availability align. Same-day charter is one of the biggest advantages of on-demand charter over fractional programs. We have arranged flights with as little as 3 hours notice.
Can I bring pets on the flight?
Yes. Private JetOne sources pet-friendly aircraft and coordinates cabin preparation, documentation, and comfort arrangements. Most pets travel in the cabin with their owners.
What is included in the charter price?
The charter price includes the aircraft, crew, fuel, and standard handling. Catering, ground transport, and special requests are quoted separately. We itemize everything so there are no surprises.
How is the price calculated?
Price is based on aircraft type, route distance, flight time, positioning, airport fees, and any special requests. Light jets start around $3,500–$5,500 per hour; heavy jets $8,000–$12,000 per hour. We provide transparent quotes before you commit.
What happens if the aircraft has a mechanical issue?
We monitor your booked aircraft 24 hours before departure. If a mechanical issue occurs, we immediately source a replacement aircraft from our network. Our average recovery time is under 2 hours.
Can I choose my specific aircraft?
Yes, you can request a specific model or category. We will present available options that match your route, passenger count, and preferences. You choose the aircraft that fits your mission.
What airports can I use?
Any airport that can handle your aircraft category. Private jets can use over 5,000 airports in the US alone — compared to ~500 for commercial airlines. We recommend the closest airport to your actual origin and destination.
How much luggage can I bring?
It depends on the aircraft. Light jets: 2–3 m³. Midsize: 2–4 m³. Heavy jets: 3–7 m³. Ski gear, golf clubs, and oversized items are all accommodated. We review luggage requirements before confirming the aircraft.
Is catering included?
Standard catering is included on most flights. Premium catering (fine dining, specific restaurants, dietary requirements) can be arranged for an additional cost. We ask about catering preferences during the quote process.
Can I smoke on the aircraft?
Smoking is permitted only on aircraft explicitly designated as smoking-allowed by the operator. Most aircraft are non-smoking. Please mention this requirement when requesting a quote.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms vary by aircraft and operator. Generally, cancellations 72+ hours before departure incur minimal fees. Cancellations within 24 hours may forfeit the deposit. We explain the policy clearly before you confirm.
Do you offer empty leg flights?
Yes. Empty leg flights — when an aircraft needs to reposition without passengers — can offer savings of 30–70%. Subscribe to our empty leg alerts for your favorite routes.
How do you ensure safety?
Every operator in our network is vetted to ARGUS Gold, Wyvern Wingman, or IS-BAO standards. You receive an independent safety report for your specific operator and aircraft before payment. We never compromise on safety.
What is the difference between charter and fractional ownership?
Charter: pay per flight, no upfront cost, no commitment, any aircraft. Fractional: buy a share of an aircraft, pay monthly fees, commit to 3–5 years, limited to the provider's fleet. For most flyers under 100 hours/year, charter is dramatically more cost-effective.
Why should I choose PJ1 over NetJets?
PJ1 offers zero upfront cost, zero monthly fees, zero blackout dates, and any aircraft — not just a single fleet. NetJets requires $215K+ upfront and $12K–$28K/month. For flexible flyers, PJ1 saves hundreds of thousands annually while offering the same or better aircraft.
Can I book round-trip or multi-city?
Yes. We arrange one-way, round-trip, multi-city, and complex itineraries. Multi-city trips are common for business roadshows and family vacations. Each leg is priced transparently.
What payment methods do you accept?
Wire transfer, ACH, credit card, and Apple Pay. Credit card payments incur a 3.5% processing fee. Deposits are typically 50% to hold the aircraft, balance due 24 hours before departure.
Is there a daily minimum?
Most operators have a 2-hour daily minimum for light and midsize jets, and 2–3 hours for heavy jets. If your flight time is shorter, the daily minimum applies. We explain this in every quote.
